Scott #1120 4¢ Commemorative United States Postage Stamp Celebrates the Centennial of the First Overland Mail Service.
All plate blocks are in MNH (Mint Never Hinged) condition. Four different plates were used when printing the stamps. The corresponding plate numbers are 26158, 26159, 26160, and 26161. If the plate number & position are not important when ordering, you can select 'Surprise me!'. Each separate plate block will come in a glassine envelope for protection.
- Subject - The Overland Mail stamp features a stagecoach, honoring the Butterfield Overland Mail route. (While honoring the first overland route, its release caused controversy, as some believed the honor belonged to a different route operator, Birch.)
- Issue Date - October 10th, 1958
- City of Issue - San Francisco, CA
- Color - Crimson Rose
- Rotary Press Printing - Perf. 11 x 10 ½
- Quantity Issued - 125,770,200 issued
NOTE: Please understand that we’ve made every effort to inspect these stamps for visual defects and imperfect gum. As amateur collectors, they’ve passed our 'keep' test (...and we're pretty picky ☺️). We believe that, although these postage stamp blocks are not professionally certified, they are in excellent condition.
