Scott #1142 4¢ United States Postage Stamp Honors the Famous Quote by Francis Scott Key, "And this be our Motto, in GOD is our TRUST".
All plate blocks are in MNH (Mint Never Hinged) condition. Four different plates were used when printing the stamps. The corresponding plate numbers are 26683, 26693, 26695, and 26696. If the plate number & position are not important when ordering, you can select 'Surprise me!'. Each separate plate block will come in a glassine envelope for protection.
- Subject -Scott #1142 is a 4-cent commemorative stamp, the third in the American Credo Series. It features the final line of Francis Scott Key’s poem "Defense of Fort McHenry"—"And this be our MOTTO, in GOD is our TRUST"—which became the national anthem of the United States, "The Star-Spangled Banner." The design includes a starburst with three stars and a faithful reproduction of Key’s signature.
