All plate blocks are in MNH (Mint Never Hinged) condition. Four different plates were used when printing the stamps. The corresponding plate numbers are 26797, 26803, 26805, and 26806. If the plate number & position are not important when ordering, you can select 'Surprise me!'. Each separate plate block will come in a glassine envelope for protection.
- Subject -Issued on November 19, 1960 — the anniversary of the Gettysburg Address — U.S. Scott #1143 is a 4-cent commemorative stamp, the fifth in the “American Credo” series. It showcases a stirring quote from Abraham Lincoln: “Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves,” taken from his April 6, 1859, letter to Henry L. Pierce. The design features Lincoln’s facsimile signature and understated symbols of liberty, all enclosed within the series’ distinctive ornamental border.
