Scott #1162 4¢ United States Postage Stamp is a Commemorative Issue Honoring The Automotive Industry.

All plate blocks are in MNH (Mint Never Hinged) condition. Four different plates were used when printing the stamps. The corresponding plate numbers are 26774, 26775, 26776, and 26777. If the plate number & position are not important when ordering, you can select 'Surprise me!'. Each separate plate block will come in a glassine envelope for protection.

  • SubjectThe U.S. Scott #1162 is a 4-cent postage stamp issued on October 15, 1960, known as the "Wheels of Freedom" issue. It honors the American automotive industry and the principle of industrial freedom. Released to coincide with the National Automobile Show in Detroit, Michigan, the stamp features a dark blue design depicting a steering wheel that contains images of a tractor, car, and truck, surrounded by depictions of the Eastern and Western Hemispheres.
